Hey there, creative coder! These 15 questions will give you an idea of the format and content that will be on the Benchmark Practical.
This is one of two practice sets. This focuses more on definitions and core concepts. The following will focus more on example code.
The practical is a closed book exam. To properly assess your knowledge, this practice should be treated as closed book as well. Try to replicate test conditions- quiet room, no talking, no distractions. You may not test or run any code in Python, but feel free to check your answers after!
Some questions may have more than one correct answer. Some answers have suggested study ares.

You have your first opportunity to take the benchmark on Friday, April 10th. You will have 3 subsequent opportunities to take the exam before the end of the semester. All exams will be hosted on Canvas.
Makeups and retakes can happen during:
- During office hours
- By appointment
- Wednesdays April 15th, 22nd from 6-8pm.
- During recitation (not recommended!)
- During finals hours (May 3rd, time TBD)
