Workshop Objectives

In this workshop, we'll learn the basics of the Mini Laser Cutter including the process to cut or engrave using the laser cutter, machine anatomy and acceptable and unacceptable materials to use. We’ll practice generating a laser cutter file to cut from CAD and go through applying the material settings to the laser cutter to complete a sample cut. We’ll do the same for engraving and wrap up the workshop with helpful tips and tricks.

    • Vector file basics with CAD file generation practice using OnShape and CorelDRAW.
    • Configuring machine settings based on material and running example cuts including how to remove cut pieces.

    • Laser cutter tips and tricks.
    • Laser cutter safety.
