Zoom

Zoom is a web conferencing tool that unifies cloud video conferencing, online meetings, and collaboration into one platform. Zoom's extensive features, compatibility with desktop or mobile devices, and multi-layered security enable rich web conferencing experiences for campus and unaffiliated users at CU Boulder. Canvas

Canvas is a cloud-based learning management system (LMS) that can be used as an additional space for instruction, a communication hub for students, as well as a place to collect, grade and track assignments. Check the website on how to get started, features, and support. Make sure to bookmark your canvas dashboard. There are also a number of applications that can be integrated within Canvas courses. Integrations allow users to seamlessly access an external application inside of Canvas without requiring users to sign-in to the application. CU Boulder and members of the Canvas community have begun to develop enhancements designed to expand existing Canvas functionality. Explore these ENHANCEMENTS here.

Zoom & Canvas integration

Instructors and students have access to Zoom directly from Canvas’s navigation bar through the Canvas and Zoom integration. Instructors are able to efficiently perform most Zoom functions from inside Canvas, including scheduling meetings, viewing upcoming meetings, accessing cloud recordings and other Zoom functions. Students are able to easily find Zoom meeting links created by their instructors within Canvas by clicking the Zoom button in the navigation bar or from links in their Canvas calendar.

NameCoach in Canvas

To further the goal of building a more welcoming and inclusive community, CU Boulder has licensed NameCoach which allows students and faculty to record and share their preferred name pronunciation in Canvas. Record your name today!
